PicklePairings › Compare › Free round robin generators
Updated 8 September 2026
There are three genuinely free ways to generate a pickleball round robin in 2026: PicklePairings (free, unlimited, no account), the Round Robin Pairing Generator add-on for Google Sheets (free, printable pairings only, no scoring), and Challonge's ad-supported plan (free, general-purpose brackets, no rotating partners). Pickleheads includes 2 round robins a month on its free plan, Swish's free tier does not let you create one, and PicklePlay is free to download with a paid tier inside. Club platforms such as Playtomic Manager and CourtReserve run round robins too, at club prices. Details and sources below.

A single-page app for the organizer: round robin with fixed teams, Americano with rotating partners, Swiss, knockout and double elimination. Automatic pairings, court numbers, live standings (wins, point differential, points), printable round sheets, share-as-text, late adds, withdrawals, forfeits and manual swaps. Nothing is uploaded; the tournament lives on your device and exports as a file. There is no player-facing app, no registration or payment collection, and no ratings integration. Open it in the browser or install the iPhone app; it is free with no in-app purchases.
The round robin tool with the most formats: 12, including rotating-partner and fixed-partner play, with unlimited players and courts, late-arrival handling, players entering their own scores from their phones, DUPR submission and payment collection. The tool lives in the mobile app. The free plan includes 2 round robins a month; extra round robins cost $5 each, there are Pro and Ultra tiers with larger allowances (prices not on the page checked), and if every player in the group subscribes to Plus ($2.99 a month or $19.99 a year) the organizer can run unlimited events. Best for organizers whose players will all install the app. Full comparison: PicklePairings vs Pickleheads.
A club and tournament platform with player accounts, registration and payments through SwishTournaments.com, and DUPR-verified score uploads. The recreational plans are Free (limited), Paid Recreational at $2.50 a month, which is the tier that can create round robins, leagues and tournaments, and Friend Group at $35 a month covering up to 20 people. Club plans run from $75 to $200 a month on a 6-month minimum. Best for clubs and paid events. Full comparison: PicklePairings vs Swish.
A community app: games, invitations, waitlists, clubs, chats and announcements, with a round robin organizer offering rotating and set partner draws, skill-based pools and brackets, and player rankings within groups. The app is free to download; the App Store listing shows in-app purchases at $1.99 a month or $14.99 a year, and the listing does not say what they unlock. Best for groups that want one app for finding games and running them. Full comparison: PicklePairings vs PicklePlay.
A free Google Workspace add-on by Karl Schumann that creates round robin pairings for up to 40 participants inside a Sheet, lets you edit names without re-running, and formats one pairing group per printed page. The listing shows 18K+ installs and a last update of November 2024. It pairs participants as individuals, so it fits singles or pre-formed teams entered as one name; there is no scoring, standings or partner rotation on the listing. Best if you live in Google Sheets and just need the grid. Full comparison: PicklePairings vs Round Robin Pairing Generator.
A general-purpose bracket site used across esports and sports: single and double elimination, round robin, Swiss and group stages. The Standard plan is $0 and ad-supported with unlimited tournaments and up to 256 participants; Premier is $6.99 a month billed yearly and removes ads. There is no pickleball-specific partner rotation, so it suits fixed-team events and brackets rather than social play.
Both are venue software rather than organizer tools. Playtomic Manager added King of the Court, Americano and Mexicano tournament tools with automatic pairing, match-by-match results and a live leaderboard; players currently receive matchups through the tournament chat. Its pricing is not published on the page checked. CourtReserve's plans start at $199 a month ($159 billed annually) and are built around court booking, memberships and payments; leagues appear as a $99-a-month Flex Leagues add-on on the higher tiers. If you run a facility, these belong on your list. If you are a volunteer with a laptop, they do not.
