Mexicano pickleball generator
Updated 1 November 2026
Mexicano is Americano with a twist: round 1 is a random draw, and from then on each round is paired from the standings, so players meet others on similar points and games stay close. Use this page to draw round 1, see how later rounds form, and print a points sheet.

How each round is paired
- Round 1 is a random draw, four players to a court.
- After every round, sort everyone by total points.
- Group the table in fours from the top: places 1–4 on court 1, 5–8 on court 2, and so on.
- Within each four, 1st and 3rd play 2nd and 4th. That splits the two leaders, so the strongest player never partners the next strongest.
Some apps use 1st & 4th v 2nd & 3rd instead. Either works; pick one and tell the players before you start.
Scoring
Each player banks the points their side scored in every game, exactly as in an Americano. Play to a fixed number of points (21 or 24 in padel, 11 or 15 in pickleball) or for a fixed time. If someone sits out, give them that round's average score so the bench never costs points. Ties go to games won, then best single game. The Americano guide covers both formats.
Mexicano or Americano?
Choose Americano when the point is to mix: everyone partners as many people as possible. Choose Mexicano when the levels are wide and you want close games; it pairs players near each other in the table. The Americano generator has rotation charts for 4 to 16 players.
Running it in the app
Choose Mexicano, paste the names and set the rounds. The app draws round 1, then builds every later round from the live table, picks fair sit-outs and avoids sitting the same player two rounds running.
