Round robin, Swiss and brackets rank by wins, then point difference, then points scored. Americano ranks by total points, then games won, then best single game.
With fixed teams, one team has a bye each round and the byes rotate fairly. In Americano, the players who can't fill a court sit out and score that round's average.
